"Fragrance connects us to our emotions, to our memories and to each other". This is a quote from the founder of Scentsy, Heidi Thompson. And if you think about it, it is so true! At least somewhere in your life, there has to be a certain scent that when you smell it, it brings back either a fond memory or possibly a bad memory.
I can give you a funny reference that always makes me laugh, If I am making a grilled cheese sandwich and my husband smells it~ it always brings back a memory of his train ride with his family when he was little. He was sick from riding on the train. When his family finally decided to eat~ they decided on grilled cheese sandwiches. To this day he can't stomach the smell of a grill cheese sandwich!! LOL I didn't even realize a grilled cheese even had a smell!!! haha
My memory of a favorite scent is Lilacs. Growing up on a dead end street, we lived right next to train tracks and lots of trees and bushes. But one particular bush I remember fondly! Our Lilac bush, it was massive! This was such a fragrant tree or bush, not really sure which it was. And when the wind would blow, the smell of those tiny purple flowers would just breeze through our home! I LOVED IT! And to this day, when I smell anything lilac, I think of that old house I grew up in! And it gives me such a content feeling. When we are little, life feels carefree, and I love remembering the security of living in that old farmhouse!
